Made from a tomesode (formal kimono worn by married ladies).   Inside features one open pocket on side.  
Reinforced base and studs on the base adds stability.   The detachable strap is adjustable in length.  

This vintage kimono was sourced from the Osaka area of Japan.  It is approximately 30 to 40 years old, and in excellent condition.
